Blackthorn Book Tours was established by authors Isobel Blackthorn and Henry Roi in 2019, to promote dark fiction.

Author Carly Rheilan (now part of Coffee and Thorn) joined their partnership in 2020. Shortly after that, Isobel left, and Blackthorn Book Tours was brought under the umbrella of Henry Roi PR, a generic book promotion company already being run by Henry. Carly continued to extend Blackthorn Book Tours, established the Henry Roi PR website, and developed many of the systems and practices that now underpin Coffee and Thorn.

In 2021 Lilyan Arcier joined them as adminstrator, and also was the driving force for the addition of Black Coffee Tours (general and literary fiction.) Carly and Lilyan ran Black Coffee and Blackthorn Tours until July 2022, when they left Henry Roi PR.
[Shortly before their leaving, Henry Roi PR closed Blackthorn Book Tours and established a new dark fiction tour brand, Black Tide.
Henry Roi PR also continues to run booktours using the brand name Black Coffee Book Tours.]
About the Blackthorn and Black Coffee Archive…
Henry Roi decided not to incorporate into his company history the records of tours undertaken by Carly and Lilyan as Blackthorn Book Tours and Black Coffee Book Tours during their time in partnership with his company. These records are now included as an archive on this website to preserve the history and as a record of that work. Coffee and Thorn acknowledges that Henry Roi and Isobel Blackthorn had a business interest in some or all of these tours. We will support either or both of them in including those records in their company or personal history if they choose to do so in future.

Coffee and Thorn
Coffee and Thorn was formed by Carly Rheilan and Lilyan Arċier in July 2022 to preserve the history of Blackthorn and Black Coffee tours up until that date, and to continue the tradition of promoting great independent books that grew from this journey.
The new group is not part of and has never been linked to Henry Roi PR.
From the outset, Coffee and Thorn has worked in partnership with The Paul Hodges Trust, and aims to raise money to support that UK charity with its strategic goal of promoting girls’ education in Sub-Saharan Africa.
